A note from the founders

Kindred means closeness, by family or by shared purpose. We chose the name because we believe the people who fund nonprofits, the nonprofits they fund, and the brands who want to reach and support them could feel that close to one another, if someone built the connection on purpose.

It started at a gala on a Friday evening. Barma was being honored. Three different people at our table that evening asked her the same question. How do we get good products for our swag bags? She had spent years in retail, knowing which brands wanted to reach which audiences. Garth had spent his entire career in tech building the systems that connect them. By Sunday in our kitchen, we had started to design the answer.
